Black Birds
Like a black cloud
They swarm.
As black stars,
They leave behind a trail of chaos.
In circles they go,
Chasing after each other.
They tease you,
Like an old friend.
Then fly way,
Only when they think you’ve had enough,
And cause a storm above some else’s head.

Dale Hollow
The sun rises.
A ghostly fog hovers over the water
The crisp cool breeze
Sways all the trees.
Turtles pop out of the water
Making ripples that go on forever.
Boat engines ignite in the air,
Sounds of screams fade in my ear
The sun falls.
And vibrant hues fill the sky
Outlining the rocky forested hilltops.
