I Am a Warrior and a Survivor

 

I wonder if words can heal me,

I hear my spirit talking to me through my mind,

I see beyond the extreme,

I want the world to see me as I am.

 

I am a warrior and a survivor,

I pretend to be tough and careless,

I feel my heart in pain through my core,

I thought saying would be easier than doing,

I worry about the future, mostly my future,

I cry behind the doors, knowing my weaknesses.

 

I am a warrior and a survivor,

I understand the way the world thinks,

I am home warm Sunday mornings and cool Monday afternoons,

I try my best to put on a smile,

I dream of being a firefly traveling through the Aurora Borealis,

I say believe in your words,

I am a warrior and a survivor.
